How do Mebeverine Tablets work?
Mebeverine hydrochloride is an antispasmodic medicine. It works by relaxing the muscle in the walls of the intestines, relieving painful muscle spasms in the gut and reduces related symptoms like colicky abdominal cramps and pain, wind, bloating, and diarrhoea alternating with constipation.
What are the benefits of taking Mebeverine Tablets?
Mebeverine is effective in providing relief to the painful muscle spasms in the gut. It effectively reduces the symptoms that are associated with irritable bowel syndrome and related intestinal disorders.
One tablet of Mebeverine should be taken up to three times a day, ideally around 20 minutes before your usual main meals. Swallow each tablet with plenty of water – do not chew them.
Not everyone will experience side effects when they take Mebeverine, however if you do they may include:
